Check out the latest changes and improvements that have been made to the game.

Since the Early Access launch on January 13, 2026, Hytale has received several rapid-fire updates to stabilize the game and introduce the first wave of post-launch content. Below is a compilation of the patch notes and major updates from the launch through February 2026. The Launch & Initial Hotfixes (Jan 13 – Jan 15, 2026) The launch period focused exclusively on stability and critical connectivity issues caused by the massive player influx. Connectivity: Fixed "invalid token" errors caused by system clock desync. The client now automatically switches to Offline Mode if authentication fails. Stability: Fixed a crash during character creation when selecting certain hair/eyebrow combinations. Gameplay: Fixed a critical bug where using a bucket could crash the server and break nearby workbenches. Regional Fixes: Resolved an issue preventing players in Norway from launching the game. Update 1: The "Jungle & Quality of Life" Patch (Jan 17, 2026) This update introduced the first batch of new content while refining early-game mechanics. New Content: Added dinosaurs and new NPCs to underground jungle biomes (require new chunk generation). Farming & Survival: * Players can now sleep starting at 7:30 PM (moved from 7:00 PM). Backpack crafting requirement halved (8 Medium Leather instead of 16). Skeletons no longer take drowning damage. Combat: Weapon attacks now strictly check for line of sight. Visuals: Added new eye types (Cat, Demonic, Reptile) and lavender hair color. Update 2: Necromancy & Mining Overhaul (Jan 24, 2026) Update 2 was the first major gameplay expansion, introducing a new magic system and a total rework of the mining meta. Necromancy System: Introduced the Necromancy Grimoire (dropped by Skeleton Praetorians), allowing players to summon up to 5 skeletal minions from bone piles. Mining Rework: Mining speed now scales strictly with tool tier. High-tier ores like Adamantite now require a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe. AI Anti-Cheese: Mobs can now throw rocks at players who "tower up" or stay out of reach. Customization: Added a toggle to hide armor pieces visually while keeping their stats. WorldGen V2: Initial backend implementation of the new world generation engine, increasing ore density in the Devastated Lands. Pre-Release & February Updates (Feb 5, 2026) The latest massive patch notes released on February 5th focused on expanding the "cozy" features and improving creative tools. Avatar Presets: Players can now save and swap between up to 10 custom outfits. New Items: Added the Goblin Flamethrower (Creative only for now) and the T2 Furnace with a new model and animations. Accessibility: Added Ophidiophobia Mode, which replaces Hatworms with Larva models. Environment: Enhanced Taiga spawns near rivers and improved weather VFX for Zone 1. Bug Fixes: Fixed shadow flickering on NVIDIA cards and resolved the "flickering markers" on the world map.
